Vukani BoMake was founded in 2020 to support women, youth, and people with disabilities facing job losses due to COVID-19. The name means “Women Arise,” reflecting its mission to empower financial independence.
They teach practical skills like sewing, crocheting, and upholstery using leftover textile materials, promoting income generation and sustainability. Business training in bookkeeping and marketing helps participants build lasting enterprises.
With support from donors like Far East Textiles, they’ve established 13 “cottage factories” across Eswatini, offering ongoing training, materials, and sales support. In 2023, they trained 170 people in partnership with the International Trade Centre and Eswatini Beverages, while MTN Foundation funded three new factories.
Beyond training, they produce corporate gifts, partner with Days for Girls to provide underwear, and supply hair bonnets and cutlery pouches. They aim to expand, reduce inequality, and fight poverty by equipping people with skills and support for lasting change.
