Tintsaba was founded in 1985 by Sheila Freemantle to empower rural women in eSwatini through personal and financial independence. Starting with just 12 women, it has become a globally recognised leader in refined sisal basketry and quality jewellery.
Over 1,400 women have been trained through Tintsaba’s holistic approach, offering workshops in leadership, skills development, environmental awareness, and women’s health.
After Sheila’s passing in 2012, her vision lives on through the dedication of her husband, Richard, and the Tintsaba team. We remain committed to excellence, sustainability, and the empowerment of emaSwati women.
Together, we weave a better life.
